Weather Symphony translates weather data (wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall amounts) into a variety of MIDI signals that can be interacted with via a sound-mixing touch interface and a set of distance sensors. By connecting rainfall, wind speed, and wind direction sensors, one can engage with the weather in a novel way—as a musical collaborator.

For prototyping, we can simulate rainfall and high winds using a jug of water and a hand-held fan. Using an iPad with a Touch OSC interface, participants are able to interact with and hear the combinations created by their sound mixing and the "weather." Read the process blog here.
